2019 will be a year when we will see significant change in the political and economic landscape and there will never be a more important time to ensure that we have the right skills in the region to deal with the changes on the horizon. For all businesses who have previously engaged with the Regional Learning and Skills Partnership (RLSP) we would like to thank you. We hope that we can continue to work together to deliver an Employment and Skills plan for our Region that is fit for purpose, that will meet the employer needs as well as encouraging people to take advantage of the opportunities that will become available in the region through the City and Growth Deals.
For businesses who have not previously engaged with the RLSP, we are one of three skills partnerships in Wales that work with businesses to understand what their skills requirements are. This information is then used to inform the annual Employment and Skills Plan which are used by Welsh Government to inform the funding of further education and work based learning programmes. The South West and Mid Wales RLSP works across the six counties and the wide range of businesses that support the economy of the region.
The annual survey is a short on-line questionnaire focusing on your business and the skills that you need now and will need in the future. The information is confidential and is only used to inform the Skills Plan. We also have Sector Cluster Groups where there is a wider discussion on what skills training is required and we welcome participation in these groups but appreciate that this is not always possible.
This year we want to exceed the number of businesses that we engage with and we have set ourselves a target of 2000 businesses from across the region, from the large companies to the micro and SME businesses that are the foundation of our regional economy.
Be part of changing the skills landscape in the South West and Mid Wales region – have your say by completing the attached survey and please pass this email on to encourage other businesses to participate.
